Trying to bond...

In the summer, we had our greatest "vacation" of the year... My sister and her family came to spend a whole month with us! What a treat! So, last year that I met Priscilla, she was 8 months old. This time she came again, she was a year and a half... sooo, she didn't remember me and didn't want to come with me! But I was not ok with that. Every day I tried to find ways of making her like me. One of the first things we did was a manicure (no pictures?), but another one was a pedicure. What girl doesn't like that?! She liked it and we were able to bond. OK, it took more than a few things for her to warm up to me. She is one of my little princesses. I love you Priscilla!

Smile now!

Not MY best shot, but a cute one of one of my little princesses. I loved doing Priscilla's hair and this was taken right after. Maybe you can't see it good, but in person it looked really cute!

p.s. I didn't want the close-up to be THAT close!

Good-luck birds?

These two little birds, all of a sudden one day, started to come to our front door and sleep there. One day, I opened the door and thought that a bird flew out of somewhere by the door. How can they have a nest on an inch wide space...?? I thought it couldn't be... until it happened again. Another time, Wally noticed two little birds right above the front door. Every evening they came, and every early morning they left. It happened for about a month. Then one left. After a few days, the other left too, and they never came back.....

Soccer

This year we finally acted on signing up the kids for a sport. Weston wanted soccer and we thought of letting Noah play too.  So there is Noah and Daddy on first day. Wally also was asked if he wanted to volunteer as a coach, and he said it was fine, and they tossed a coach shirt at him and gave them some things and told him to start coaching!
Wally helping one of his team players.

Weston was so excitd to start his practice. He didn't want girls in his team, and when we met his team, half of them were girls! Two fo them (twins) go to his school, so he kind of knows them.
During practice...

During the game...

Referee telling Wes how to throw the ball to someone on his team...

He is so excited to play. And as you notice, on their first day, we didn't have shin guards....So during half game, Wes got kicked right on, and it hurt....and if you know Weston, he did cried and then didn't want to play the rest of the game....

Sleep tight...

This is how my boys sleep. Weston sleeps all tight with his covers and snuggled up.
Noah is always taking up the opportunity to bring something special to bed... this time it was the baby (taken from my parents' house). He loves babies! And in the middle of the night, kicks off covers!

Craving

Wally's mom had shared these cupcakes with us a while back, and I had been craving them, and so I bought all the ingredients and made them! Many steps and take time, but well worth it! As you can tell, the top frosting needed to be a little refrigerated before putting it on (thanks to Texas weather), but I couldn't wait!

Oh, I regret forgetting the ingredient that gives it the final touch.... a piece of caramel on the top!

Conference weekend

On that Saturday, we went to some friends house to watch and listen to conference. The kids paid more attention while playing bingo with "smarties" (candy). So on Sunday, we were going to watch conference supposedly, on the internet through our wii system, due to no cable anymore. But it was unsuccessful because of the video streaming or something. So I thought we could watch it on my iPad, but it was not coming up successfully and fast. Then I told Wally to bring the PC so we could hook it up on the TV. By then, we ended up needing our keyboard, mouse, speakers, and for some reason Wally brought the monitor too.
So, the picture below is to show that at a certain point, 3 screens were working fine with conference showing. I thought it deserved a picture! Weston enjoying it on the computer monitor, Wally and Noah on the iPad, and me watching it on the TV.

Our Conference bingo worked great with jelly beans, and I don't know for other people, but my kids totally paid attention to conference! We had a very good time, and listened, and learned, and it was probably the best time of all the conference sessions we have watched at home in the past years.

Blue bonnets

A texas tradition, I will call it, to take pictures at the blue bonnets fields.... But we still had not done it! Procrastination... bad, bad. So, Whitni called me one morning and asked if we could meet in about an hour or so at the blue bonnets! What?! Ok, let's do it. Hurry, find somewhat coordinated shirts, get in the car and go. Luckily I had the car. So after all the many, these are a quick selection of some that I liked. Fun time!

At the zoo....

On Spring break, we had the pleasure of going with Whitni and the boys to the Houston zoo. We packed a picnic lunch and we enojoyed it in the middle of our visit. The boys had fun looking at the animals and walking around in between a lot of people! I had fun too.

Horse-back riding in the middle of no where...

We have some friends that have horses in Conroe, and so we got together with them for a fun weekend out "in the middle of no-where", seriously. So we barbequed hot dogs, had some chips, fruit and drinks, and roasted marshmallows after.
They have 2 kids, a boy and this cute girl, that Noah found as a buddy... They both love to eat so they decided to stay there eating... Weston and Wally watched Leslie ride "Diamond" first.
"Keep your back straight Wally".

"Oh Diamond, please turn".... I'm suppose to relax, but it's not that easy as it seems!
Smiling just for that camera. I was nervous!

Weston is happy with dirt and a stick, anywhere!

So after the horse riding, our little family stopped by the park in the neighborhood and played...

Weston said the slide was very steep!

All the boys like swings.
"Watch me jump high!"

And he did!!

We had a fun time!
